If you are above 20, then you must know these
If you are above twenty, you are not getting any younger. The earlier you start focusing your life into a goal, the better for you. Don’t think you have all the time, or you need to be a graduate of this and that before you begin to plan your life.
I have listed a few stuffs I consider paramount for you to take note of.
Your life has already begun.
There is neither interlude nor a trial version, as simple as that. All the attempts you take count. And every decision you make changes the course of your life. It either takes you closer to the things you want to accomplish or holds you back from success. Be prepared to take risks but do not rush into decisions.
Think twice before committing to the “next big thing”.
Learning is a new procrastination.
No doubt, knowledge is crucial. However, don’t wildly broaden your knowledge in particular spheres and never happen to apply it in a real life. You already have and know everything you need to start off. Don’t postpone the first step. Everything does not need to be alright before you start, they will likely never be all right. Begin something first.
Stop learning by consuming. Start learning by creating.
You Always Have A Choice.
As a moral being, you always have a choice, and of course, you are responsible for the choices you make. No one forces you to do the work you don’t like. No one forces you to live with a person you don’t love. No one forces you to stay in the place you hate. Keep on looking for what you are passionate about and what makes you feel happy.
Remember: if you are unhappy with something, it’s your choice to be so.
Your life sucks because of fear.
Fear of being rejected and criticized. Fear of your terrible past, fear of unknown future. Fear of taking a bold step and leaving your comfort zone. You doubt yourself, thinking you do not have enough knowledge or skills to perform well. You give in to your fears and sabotage yourself before you even begin. Eventually, you settle down for mediocre results because of yourself and your fears.
Be bold enough to take an action. You are the only one who can make your life better and you are the only one who’s responsible for the realization of your dreams. Period!
Practice beats intelligence.
Repetition and consistency beat talent. You don’t need an inherent talent to excel in your field. You only need to show up every day and work hard to achieve mastery. The outstanding results come with practice. Success is not about the innate gifts.
Stop whining about the absence of luck and talents. You can achieve whatever you want as long as you are ready to invest your time and effort.
Your material wealth won’t make you a happier person.
Most people obsessively aspires to become insanely rich to be able to afford to buy fancy things. However, neither fast cars nor big houses will ever make you a better or a happier person. Regardless of millions of dollars on your bank accounts, you can easily stay lonely, mentally cheap, and intellectually poor.
Financial freedom is cool. However, it’s rarely the substitute for happiness. Don’t try to trick your mind. Money isn’t what you’re actually looking for.
There is no such thing as alone genius.
Great ideas require great teams. No one has ever achieved anything worth being proud of alone. There is always a team of dedicated professionals standing behind every massive win.
Don’t try to conquer the world on your own. This struggle will eventually get you frustrated. Without a great team, you won’t get far from the place you are now.
Your own ideas are worthless.
No one cares about your ideas and no one wants to steal them as you might believe. The only thing that people care about is implementation. No one cares how many ideas you have and how incredible they are. No one will ever praise you for having brilliant concepts.
People only want to see the implementation of daring ideas and they are only ready to assess your success based on that.
Start doing something today! Don’t be kept bound by inertia.
